Yoga Day 2022 Live Updates: The theme of this year's Yoga Day celebrations is 'Yoga for Humanity' and around 25 crore people across the world are expected to take part in various events, doing yoga in unison towards better health and wellness for all.
Eighth Edition of the International Day of Yoga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday that yoga has become a global festival as there is widespread acceptance of the ancient Indian practice as he participated in the eighth International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations in Karnataka’s Mysuru. Speaking before the yoga demonstration in which he participated for 45 minutes, PM Modi said, “The acceptance of that Amrit spirit of India which gave energy to India’s freedom struggle. That is why mass yoga demonstrations are being organized at 75 iconic locations across the country.”
Greeting people on the occasion of International Yoga Day, President Ram Nath Kovind said, “Yoga is India’s gift to humanity and it is a holistic approach to health and well-being, balancing mind, body, and soul.” The president took part in Yoga Day demonstration at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He also asked everyone to make Yoga a part of their daily life & experience its benefits.

A flagship program in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs has also been organized for a mass Yoga Protocol world over on the day following the movement of the sun.
